Easter time, while it’s full of fun and festivities, is also a time of excess. We all know there’s a lot of chocolate and alcohol consumed over the Easter period and it’s easy for our fitness goals to go out the window. Luckily, we have a few tips and tricks you can keep up your sleeve this long weekend so you can maintain wellness and stay on track to achieve your goals.
Schedule in Easy Exercise
We know… who wants to work out on a long weekend? But, keeping at least a light schedule will make it so much easier to get back into routine after the break. We recommend going for at least a walk first thing in the morning so you can tick it off the list and enjoy the rest of your day! It’s also a wonderful way to start your day; if you’re visiting family or having friends stay over, try to get them involved too.
Small Swaps Make a Big Change
Over the weekend, there are a number of small swaps that will make a huge difference when trying to stay on track with your goals. What we consider the most important swap involves controlling alcohol intake- opting for a flavoured mineral water instead of a beer or cocktail, or simply having a non-alcoholic drink in between each wine can reduce your intake greatly. Your future self will thank you for it!
Another great tip is if you know you have a big Easter lunch planned, try and have a nutrient dense breakfast in the morning. We can’t always avoid eating unhealthily over the Easter break, so ensuring you’ve started your day with a clean and healthy breakfast will make all the difference.
Stay Accountable with a Group Challenge
If you’re someone who really struggles to stay motivated, nothing will keep you on track quite like some friendly competition! Sanctuary Cove Country Club is running an April class challenge- If you can complete the most classes each week, you’ll receive a $50 Arnie’s Cafe & Bar voucher!
Our March challenge was a huge success with many people participating and keeping each other accountable, so sign up now at Sanctuary Cove Country Club reception, or get in touch via email [email protected] or phone 07 5699 9070.
Above all, remember to be kind to yourself over Easter, it’s a time to indulge and live a little! We hope these tips can help you enjoy your long weekend, whilst staying on track to achieve your long-term goals.
